DENTAL SURGERY
When it is impossible to perform proper endodontic treatment of the root canal, additional surgical procedures are used: radectomy, hemisection and resection of tips of roots.
Resection of the tip of the root is a treatment performed under local anaesthesia. It consists in removing the tip of the tooth root together with all root tip lesions. One big advantage of this procedure is treating a tooth without having to extract it.
Hemisection - consists in extraction of half a tooth and one root. The other half stays in the patient's mouth and can be used for tooth restoration by means of a crown. Such a tooth can also be used as support for prosthetic bridge.
Dental surgery also deals with the so-called "difficult extractions", especially extractions of wisdom teeth and unerupted teeth.
Maxillary sinus floor elevation is a complicated treatment performed when bone is too thin where an implant is to be inserted. In this case, the bone is supplemented with bone-replacing material.
Augmentation of alveolar process - is a treatment that consists in bone restoration by means of bone-replacing material. The effect of the treatment is the restoration of the original shape of the bone in order for further prosthetic and implantological therapy.
